A Brief History

The New York Association of Surgical Technologists (NYAST) was chartered as a State Assembly of the Association of Surgical Technologists in April of 2000. The year 2000 was the first year that any of the states received their charter; making NY one of the originals. The founding Board was as follows:   Louise Westfall, President  Karen Shepard, Vice President  Jean Polonio, Treasurer  Lynn Anderson, Secretary.

The directors were:  Linda Landwehr  Maryann Ross  Patricia Gonsalves  Susan Jeffrey  Suellen Vallely.

Mission:

Maintaining the utmost in integrity and professionalism through education, training and dedication, within our specialty in the medical field.
